As we enter this most uncertain of years, we do so with great positivity despite the lockdown situation that we all find ourselves in.
Our customers have been resilient and creative during these challenging times and consequently, we have enjoyed strong demand for our products.
Inevitably, due to rising raw material costs and the exorbitant rises in sea-freight container shipping costs, Handy Ltd has been exposed to significant upward pressure on component prices. We are absorbing the vast majority of these in the hope that this is a short-term situation.
We have been delighted with our various market’s reception to our new website and re-brand. The website is a superb platform and ‘shop window’ to our 1,500 tried and tested products. If you haven’t already, I would encourage you to have a browse at our full range of product and service pages.
During the past year we have been working hard at expanding our range of components, performing due diligence testing of these prior to bringing them to market.
We are particularly excited to be introducing a range of sewing threads specifically aimed at mattress manufacturers. Produced in Italy, on state-of-the-art machinery, by a third-generation manufacturer, these threads are tried and tested. We will carry a full range of types and specifications to satisfy all sewing requirements.
We will also be adding to our range of wooden glide and metal leg products. Choosing to be novel in design and thus hopefully leading the market rather than following.
We have also heavily invested in broadening our range of staples, so we are now able to offer our customers a full range of sizes and types required for their various areas of application.
I must finish by giving credit to our hard-working staff who have worked tremendously during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have adopted appropriate measures in response to the current lockdown; with increased safety procedures at our distribution centre, and for those administrative employees that can, working from home.
